Chevrolet Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said it sold 1,653 vehicles in June, the best month ever since the beginning of the year, up 9.0 percent from the previous month, pushed by sale of the flagship Optra CNG model.

Chevrolet Thailand’s vice president for sale Antonio Sara said the company has sold a total 7,113 units of vehicle in the first half of the year, helped by a continuous campaign to increase its brand awareness and trust in reducing consumers’ burden on vehicle maintenance and fuel costs.

Mr. Sara said the Optra CNG model alone was sold 1,060 units in June as the global oil prices poise to go up further.

General Motors reported a record vehicle sale in the Asia-Pacific region of 175,915 units in June, up 41 percent from the same period a year ago with total sale in the region of 969,921 units in the first half of the year.
