Jasmine expects broadband users reached 3 million by 2010

Jasmine International Plc predicts users of its broadband services may reach three million accounts from currently almost two million by 2010, pushed by the industry’s key players’ aggressive campaigns and the market’s fierce competition, said CEO Pete Bodharamik.

He said, to prepare itself for the next wave of competition, the internet gateway service provider has invested more than a billion baht through its affiliate TT&T in ramping up broadband network capacity by 200,000 ports to 1.4 million.

The company projected to add 800 million baht in revenue from its broadband service to the group’s 8.0 billion baht for 2009.

Jasmine previously targeted to capture a 30 percent market share in the internet broadband service from adding 560 thousand users.

Its products portfolio consists of three service packages of broadband speed, one of which viewed as the cheapest pricing in the market.

“We have tried to enhance user experience by increasing the internet connecting speed while maintaining service cost. This includes upping the maximum speed of premium package from currently 10 megabit per seconds that costs users only 1,490 baht a month,” Mr. Pete said.
