Prime Minister Abisit Vejachiva has appointed Joseph R Hynix, vice president for Asia-Pacific and Africa markets at Ford Motor Company (Thailand), as an honorary advisor on investment to the Thai government after their meeting at the Office of Prime Minister.

The appointment aims to revise Thailand’s image and persuade foreign direct investment to the country, especially from America and Asia-Pacific regions.

Mr. Hynix will be also appointed as an honorary advisor at the Board of Investment, the government agency for investment incentive.

He will be providing an advisory service on investment strategy that is persuasive in the eye of investors to the agency.

Ford said it plans to invest around $450 million in new car assembly lines in Thailand.
