Wienna encourages women to love your breast
Recently Wien Co., Ltd., an authorized distributor of Elna, Janome sewing machine and Wienna underwear, has organized an exhibition entitled “Love your breast” to promote breast cancer awareness amongst Thai women in order to help lowered the total of number of women patients with breast cancer in the Kingdom by educating them with breast self-examination.
The event, featured a variety of activities promoting breast cancer prevention and the demonstrations of breast prostheses sewing in a laudably attempt to donate 600 breasts prostheses to poor patients of Siriraj Hospital, was highlighted with the showcases of quilt blankets selection, demonstrations of art of textile weaving by notable designers, and breast prostheses painting performed by Kanyarat Pladichai and film star Nattarika Thamapredanun.
The one-year campaign set to raise fund for the Thanyarak Foundation, a breast foundation under the patronage of Her Royal Highness the Princess Mother by giving a certain percentage in sales of Elna Janome sewing machine, Pink Ribbon, and Brave Heart collection to the foundation, as well as to donate a percentage in sales of Wienna underwear to the Wienna Project for breast cancer patients, which welcomes volunteers to help sewing breast prostheses for women patients by apply to the program as well as requesting for breast self-examination information at Weinna underwear, Elna and Janome sewing machine distribution centers nationwide.
Breast cancer is one of the top 10 causes for women death in Thailand (according to data released by Thanyarak Foundation’s secretary Dr. Thammanit Aungsusingh). It means that every woman is at risk of developing the invasive symptom, which, however, can be prevented through regularly breast self-examination practices.
“Thai women are not normally aware of breast cancer, because they are too shy to take cancer examination. The campaign is set to promote beast cancer prevention in order to help lowered number of women patients, and to give breast prosthesis to restore their self-confidence,” Siriwan Vilassakdanont, managing director at Wien Co., Ltd. has remarked on the event.
