BEC, MCOT seen best performers media companies
With TV advertisement spending peaked in October, most media companies are returning to radar and watch-list of both investors and market monitoring agencies, analysts said.
Neilson Media Research (Thailand) reported that total advertisement spending has been rose 7 percent to 8.32 billion baht in October, compared with the same month last year and up 9 percent comparing to September.
Total TV ad spending from January through October jumped 13 percent from the same period a year ago and reached the industry’s highest record in October.
An increase in TV ad spending accounts for a 12 percent rise in ad spending in all the media.
Siam City Research Institute (SCRI) forecasted the country’s total ad spending in all the media for 2009 would be at 88 billion baht. The figure stays flat as of 2008 because the economic recession.
The research institute predicted that ad spending has yet to seen peaked in another two months to come due to advertisers’ intensified marketing campaigns towards the yearend.
TV media will be benefited most from the economic recovery as ad spending in the industry continues to rise for four consecutive months since July.
SCRI suggests keeping a close watch at BEC World Plc (BEC) and MCOT Plc (MCOT), which reported a significant gained from the economic recovery.
