Fort, Jasmine wins TOT e-auction for MSAN project
TOT Plc’s assistant managing director Suchin Kodtrup said Tuesday the competition of its electronics auction for Multi Service Access Node or the MSAN project of 3.42 billion baht in value was getting fiercer as two prospective bidders, Fort Corporation Plc and Jasmine Telecom System Co., Ltd., offered much lower bid than the mean prices.
TOT sets the electronics auction for its MSAN project into four zones regarding the country’s geographic.
Zone one and zone two cover the internet broadband services in Bangkok and its neighboring provinces while zone three through zone four cover the northeast, the east and the south regions.
An unofficial report unveiled that Fort Corporation may win bid for zone 1 through zone 3 project while Jasmine takes zone 4.
Another potential bidder, Loxley Wireless, which is currently claimed damage over the government’s pending online lottery project, was not taken into consideration of the board of TOT.
The state-run company plan to launch broadband internet access service simultaneously throughout the country.
However, its current service gets a lot of complains for slow access and limited service areas coverage.
