Alongkorn mulls market for intellectual property
Commerce Minister Alongkorn Pollabutr is considering the world’s first market for intellectual property, which he said rights will be traded the same way stock is trading.
Bringing the new innovative and creative ideas to the market, the property rights will be valued the same way stock is valued and investors can buy them for commercial purposes.
He said the ministry will discuss the project feasibility with the finance ministry and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Details will be released later this month.
Depending on the project possibility, the ministry will also set up a Creative Academy as center for researches, and intellectual property publishing.
Both the projects can be set up in either public organization or a networking of leading universities.
